Here are the Suggested changes to the
National Committee’s Uniform Vehicle Code as presented by the OHIO BICYCLE
FEDERATION, submitted by Chuck Smith.
1. Delete UVC 11-1209 as a housekeeping measure,
following our change to 11-604(b) in 1997 which limited the requirement that vehicles
signal for 100 consecutive feet before an intersection to vehicles with automatic turn
signals.

2. Delete UVC 11-1212 as a housekeeping measure,
following our change to 11-809 in 1998 which permitted bicycle racing on highways.

REVISE LETTERS AFTER
3. Renumber UVC
11-1210, 11-1211, and 11-1213.
APPROVED
4. Add the following to 11-1205 as an exception to the
"ride as close as practicable" requirement:
"4.
When riding in the right-turn-only lane."
