Thank you for requesting a copy of the National Committee’s MODEL GRADUATED LICENSING LAW.
This model was drafted utilizing input from states, safety organizations, federal agencies, and individuals interested in traffic safety. It was revised numerous times, and its final draft is also made available to all interested parties through the National Committee’s Web Page. It is important to note that The National Committee puts forth this draft as a MODEL...and encourages the states to adapt the copy to its particular and special needs in the drafting of legislation in their state(s). While it is essential that the core of this suggested model be kept intact, the syntax of the law, the deletion of certain sections, and some of the requirements have been written with suggested alternatives in the footnotes related to those sections. One final note...we would like to hear from you if you choose to utilize this model. We would appreciate your sending us the basic information on its use, such as name and affiliation of user, editing and drafting changes, and specific plans for use.
